At Last...

Lately you might find us...

....with our lives hanging in the balance...

...eating octopus....

..having a great time!

Yesterday we got great news, our trip here is almost over but we won't be going home alone. Ed is coming back with us! And his shop has work for him at home so he won't be laid-off! Ed has been working in Chattanooga since February and it's been really hard, I'm ready to close that chapter of our lives and begin a new one. Thanks for all the love and support you've given us!

Vitamin Z

We managed to pull ourselves away from the pool, hotel lounging and random ear holding long enough to visit the Chattanooga Zoo, a small but very nice place with a good selection and organized set-up.

Snow Leopard.

Cotton-Top Tamarin, my favorite exhibit at the Chattanooga zoo. Sooo adorable, I'm not sure if he wants to cuddle or eat my eyes out.

Chimp.

Georgia Aquarium

We woke up on Day 5 and readied ourselves for the day, bidding a sad farewell to our fabulous hotel. Before we headed back to Chattanooga, we had to visit Atlanta's must see attraction, The Georgia Aquarium, it boasts to be the largest aquarium in the world.

I'm holding hands with a stingray.

Piglet is fresh meat!

That large beast is a whale shark!

If you plan on visiting Atlanta and the Georgia Aquarium anytime soon, I highly recommend the Hotel Tweleve package, we got 4 tickets to the Aquarium and our hotel room for $200, the tickets alone are over $100. Great deal!

Hello Atlanta!

We decided to take an over night trip to Atlanta Georgia, just a couple hours south of Chattanooga. My first visit, and it's turning out great. We have one of the coolest rooms with an awesome view at Hotel Twelve Centennial Park. We spent Day 4 by the pool, enjoying our balcony and walking around Atlanta.

Day 3

We spent much of the morning sleeping in and relaxing around our hotel room, ::sign:: bliss. I added more participants to the Lavender Dreams Parade, thanks guys!

Then headed over to McKay Books, the largest used book store I've ever seen, this photo is only half of the store! It is unlike every used books store I am accustomed too. Not only the size but it's missing that old paper smell, it's overly organized and lacking mystery; I prefer piles of books sorted in a chaotic method only an avid read could appreciate and the casual stroll that comes over me, directed by my intuition more than laminated categories. This place was just too easy :) I did meet some Chattanooga Pagans in the new age aisle, nice folks!

We ended the evening with an excursion into northern Georgia to the nearest Drive-In. What can I say, we are drive-in addicts.

As they say 'round these part, goodnight y'all!

Day 2

We started the day reading by the pool and taking a quick dip before heading back on the road, the remaining journey from Florence (y'all) Kentucky to Chattanooga Tennessee is 5 hours.

My favorite way to pass a road trip is listening to audio books from the library, on this trip Provence A-Z by Peter Mayle and The Colorado Kid by Stephen King are my company.

Finally we've made it to Daddy! Looking forward to spending a great couple of weeks together!

On The Road Again!

Our bags are packed...

Today we began our trip back down to Chattanooga to visit Ed again! My niece Ena (a.k.a. Piglet) joins us this time, woot woot.

Journaling Day One.

Since the trip from Detroit to Chattanooga is too long for me to drive in one day, we stop for the night. The kids claim their beds right away!

Room service already?!?!?

I've learned a few hotel tricks during these trips back and forth to see Ed. First when searching online to book my hotels I specifically search for hotels, in my budget, that are newly built or newly renovated; so far this approach has booked me into fresh and modern rooms, not the usual 80's decor and musty bed spreads. Secondly when booking, I ask for a handicap room. This may land me in a lower level of hell when I die, since I'm not handicap, but I quickly forget my karma when I open my hotel room door to twice as much floor space as a regular room at no extra cost.
